The JEP initiative gives students the opportunity to start a real-life business
Ballycullane NS participated in Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) for the first time in 2021/2022. This initiative gives students the opportunity to start a real-life business. The students went through the whole process themselves. There were a number of steps to follow.
Entrepreneurial Skills
Once the business idea was decided through a ‘Dragons Den’ style afternoon, students carried out market research, budgeted their finances, created prototypes, discussed marketing strategies, packaging, and eventually went into full production mode!
In May, they held a Showcase Day where they brought their product to the market and were delighted to sell out in a short space of time!
The students really enjoyed doing JEP and they learned a huge amount about what’s involved in running a successful business.
