First Assembly of the New School Year

The whole school gathered in the Junior Room on Friday last for our first assembly of the new school year. With a change of format, the Senior Room children led proceedings.

They welcomed us all back to school making a special mention to our new infants. They showed off their latest art projects, wished everyone who has celebrated recently a happy birthday, wished the Irish rugby team the very best for the Rugby World Cup and played us out with Ireland’s Call on the tin whistle. They were fantastic!

Mrs Byrne talked to us all about putting our best foot forward for the new school year and Ms Kent outlined our new whole school points system which will reward everyone who is being the best they can be. All children are now in school wide teams and they collect points for their team. The team with the highest points will receive a lovely reward at the end of the week. The team with the highest weekly wins will get a special prize at the end of each term! All staff members can award points so there will be plenty of opportunities to win them. Best of luck everyone!
