It was a beautiful day when children from 3rd to 6th class headed off to Davidstown to attend the first ever small schools GAA blitz. We were playing football. We met other small schools from all over Wexford and made lots of new friends. We played lots of matches and we all got to play in an inflatable pitch. A great day had by all.
Noeleen Doyle returned to see children from 3rd to 6th class last week to teach them how to repair punctures in bicycle tyres. Everybody got to have a go and are now experts!
A big WELL DONE to all the boys and girls who took part in Wexford Primary Sports Day in Enniscorthy on Wednesday June 14th! It was a great day and you did your school proud!
Paul, Claire and Hazel from Fethard Inshore Rescue came to see us recently. They talked to us about the work they do and showed us some of their equipment.
Here’s a link to their Facebook page if you want to follow Fethard Lifeboat Station
We were awarded our 4th Green Flag on May 24th in Kilkenny. This flag was for the Travel theme. Many thanks to Noeleen Doyle for helping us get it!
The very best of luck to all the boys and girls in Second Class as they prepare to make their First Holy Communion on Sunday 14th May at 11am in Saint Martin’s Church.
Spring was in the air just before our Easter break when the Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class had some fluffy yellow visitors in their room! Under the guidance of Miss Roche, they incubated and hatched four lovely chicks from their eggs. There was a lot of excitement! Everyone went to visit them before they went back home to their mother hen. The children were also very busy growing cress from seeds. Have a look at the photos below to see how they got on.
2nd to 6th Classes paid a visit to New Ross Library on 28th February to listen to Kieran from The Irish Wildlife Trust give a talk on the wildlife found in the Irish Hedgerow. He explored the variety of wildlife in the hedgerow and their importance as habitats for Irish biodiversity. The children and even the teachers learned some great new facts!
