Well done to all those children who represented Ballycullane NS in Bree on Wednesday 15th May. It was a great day, the children had a picnic on the banks of the track. I am proud to report that everyone was mannerly and courteous to all and were great ambassadors for their school! Many thanks to the parents who travelling to Bree to help – Kenia Van Beusekom, Jo Rossiter and Jenny Ford.
The School got out and showed how it earned it’s green flag on Friday 19th April. Everyone was busy running here and there in their teams determined to keep our school beautiful! We donned our bibs and gloves, and armed with litter pickers we left no stone unturned in search of any rubbish. By the end of the morning the school was completely litter free!
Last week saw the energy cabin visit us here at the school. The mobile cabin was placed in Ballycullane N.S. to show everyone different examples of renewable energies that are suitable for the home and school.
It includes solar panels, batteries, wind turbine, hydrogen powered kit car, long life bulbs and handy sockets allowing mobile phones to be charged or other electronic devices to be operated.
5th and 6th class boys and girls set up various experiments and demonstrated these to the other classes along with parents and teachers.
On Wednesday 13th March, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class went bowling in Leisure Max, Wexford as part of National Ten Pin Bowling Week. Great fun was had by all to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the sport in Ireland.
