Ballycullane National School
This year we said goodbye to Abbie, Emma, Anthony, Jack, Dylan and Seamus. We wish them the best of luck as they embark on the next chapter in Ramsgrange CS and St. Mary’s in New Ross.

Junior and Senior Infants along with 1st class headed off to Secret Valley Farm in Clonroche on their school tour. The weather was hit and miss but it didn’t stop them having a great day!
This year 4th, 5th and 6th Class participated in the Blue Star Programme.
The Blue Star Programme is an education initiative for primary school pupils across Ireland. The idea of the Programme is simple: to foster better understanding and knowledge of the European Union and how it affects the lives of Irish citizens among primary pupils through classroom projects and activities. Despite school closures, we reached all the criteria and have received our Certificate.

Ms. Furlong has been busy helping 2nd and 3rd Class prepare for their First Confession which will be held shortly. Although we have no date for their Holy Communion yet, it hasn’t stopped them working really hard! They created this lovely collaborative art piece about Zacchaeus which is displayed in their classroom.

James Flynn kindly brought us some mini hurls for our Junior Classroom. Each child was given a hurl which they got to paint and design. These hurls are now used every week during GAA coaching with James. They are the perfect size and weight for the children to use. There is a circle on the bas of the hurl which lets the children know where the ball should go. Naturally, the only colours needed were purple and gold for Wexford and blue and yellow for Gusserane!
As part of our Blue Star Initiative, one of the countries we looked at was France. We spent time learning about the cities, the landscape and culture. We tasted some french pastries, such as, croissants, pain au chocolat and brioche bread! We also incorporated this into our art where we drew a picture of the iconic Eiffel Tower. We took Mona Lisa for a walk where she ended up in very exciting places like the beach and the farm!
