Last week – November 8th – 15th – was Science Week and we all became young scientists in Ballycullane N.S!

In 2nd, 3rd and 4th class, we looked at our own fingerprints and saw that each was very individual and unique.

1st, 2nd and 3rd class took a trip into New Ross Library on Friday to become engineers. They built their very own catapults using Lego and and some physics. Click on the link below to see some photos of our visit on New Ross Library’s Facebook page.

5th and 6th Class were also studying about engineers and are completing projects about their findings.

Ms Kent’s Class were very busy exploring the movement of water, making tornadoes and investigating bubbles!

Before Mid-Term, Ger Feeney came to Ballycullane N.S each week for six weeks and taught the children basketball skills. It was really enjoyable and everyone had great fun. Have a look at the photos below to see the children demonstrate their new skills

For the past six weeks Nick from New Ross RFC has come to see us here in Ballycullane N.S. and taught us how to play tag rugby. It was a great experience and the children loved learning how to play the game.

The children of Ballycullane N.S. got a great surprise on Wednesday 21st October when two fire engines drove into the school yard! The firemen from New Ross Fire Brigade had come to visit the school to show us all the engines and  the various equipment that they use on a daily basis. The children even got to use the hose! Have a look at how we got on.
